Honestly- not too difficult or complicated thanks to guided manuals and walkthroughs.
Decided to give my old MBP 8,3 late2011 17” model a bit better wireless hardware.
Process was rather pleasant up until those darn IPEX connectors.
Those even smaller form IPEX plugs are the size of a micron and have to be placed parallel with neurosurgeons precision.
Take all the time needed with that part honestly. Took me roughly around 20-30 minutes per IPEX connector.
Royal pain in the ass.
Also DO NOT yoink the isight camera connector cable out of the aluminium sled that holds in place the old wifi card. That cable is so ridiculously fragile it will probably break. Mine did so no more webcam until I manage to get it fixed. I should have used bent tip tweezers to lever the cable out of its lane instead of pulling hard.
Otherwise it’s quite nice and works 100%.
Also it is a good idea to just do complete re-install for the whole OS after the swap due to drivers issue. Unless you have expert knowledge and feel comfortable to do it yourself- manually 🙂
Customer service is extremely professional, nice, helpful and friendly.
I had many problems, but to my surprise they met my problems with a solutions oriented mindset so everything got solved.
